US officials say the breach is the mishap of a group called “Lazarus”, assumed to be regulated by the primary intelligence bureau of North Korea.

On Thursday, the FBI said in a statement ” Through the investigations, we were capable to ascertain Lazarus Group and APT38, cyber actors associated with [North Korea], are accountable for the theft,”.

The Lazarus Group was disreputed in 2014 when they were blamed for hacking into Sony Pictures and revealing confidential information to the mass.
The group demanded that Sony take off its then-upcoming satirical comedy film “The Interview”, about a plot related to the assassination of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
